Every Year the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association spearheads an effort to collect bicycles donated by the many volunteer fire departments operating within the community. This year your Volunteer Marine Fire and Rescue Department was able to donate a bike to the cause despite struggling financially alongside many other volunteer fire departments within the county. This opportunity for the department to contribute to brightening a young one’s Christmas this year was afforded by Chief of Department Janet Demeritt who selflessly used her personal funds to provide the bicycle in the name of the department.
